Rotund
Typeface Design
Introducing Rotund, a fun and playful all lowercase typeface. It is a sans serif typeface inspired by bold strokes and rounded elements of certain letters within the Phoenician and Greek alphabet. Each letter and character is designed within the confines of a circular shape to maintain uniformity and scale, thus producing an energetic yet impactful typeface.
I was tasked to study the history of typography, looking at the evolution of Phoenician, to Greek and Roman alphabets and in doing so, design a unique set of letters.
Each letter of the alphabet was cut from card stock, scanned and vectorised for a software compatible typeface. The brochure and envelope design are created as a way to promote the typeface.
