Conservation Conversations
A series of illustrated books revolving around five select endangered species from five respective biomes. They are designed to be interactive and educational for all ages to read. Each book reflects the animal and their habitat through colour schemes and illustrated content, bound using different techniques for varied tactile experiences.

The Monarch Butterfly Book
One
From the Forest Biome.
The structure of the book is inspired by the anatomy of butterfly wings – the cover opens from the middle and the pages are accordion folded. The center emulates children pop up books, highlighting the species.
The Polar Bear Book
Two
From the Arctic Biome.
This book takes inspiration from the melting ice of the arctic. The book is perfect-bound, as it is flipped open, each page is double sided to include more information about the species. A fold out page is added for users to further interact with the object and track polar bears in real time.
The Whale Shark Book
Three
From the Ocean Biome.
This saddle stitched bound book sports multiple interactive elements, imitating flag books in reference to the levels of the ocean. An envelope is added to store colourful information cards for the user to read.
The African Savanna Elephant Book
Four
From the Grasslands Biome.
The shape of the book is inspired by the large ears of the African Savanna Elephant, bound using the Japanese stab binding method. Extra fact cards are included in a pocket within the book pages.
The Slender-horned Gazelle Book
Five
From the Desert Biome.
This book is inspired by the vast landscape of the Gazelle's natural habitat, utilising perfect binding. A fold out page is added as an interactive element and to educate readers on the threats they currently face.
